The Horizontal Row, or Pull, is an increasingly popular back isolation exercise in which the athlete lies flat on a bench (parallel to the floor) with arms suspended at the sides, performing lifts using either dumbbells or a barbell. The support provided by the bench helps reduce the risk of injuries and dependence on momentum, while the movement itself has proven very effective in activating the lat and smaller back muscles.
